Forest fire digi help

My forest fire digi is doing great up high in the tank getting plenty of light. I don't think lighting is the issue with the tissue loss.

Lighting absolutely has a direct effect on tissue loss, especially in systems when there is insufficient nutrients. When there is zero nutrients, coral tissue thins significantly, which at high light will cause it to bleach, recede, and even die off. It appears that OP is having really low N and P so he needs to raise that, in the meantime, the strong light is torching the coral, which is why he'd need to lower the light intensity or lower the frag. Once he is able to establish more nutrients in the tank and have everything stabilized, he can then raise the coral and the light intensity.

Completely agree except I will say if N and P are too low or zero, that’s exactly how a forest fire digi will look in my experience. Patchy bald spots. You’ll see algae form on those areas soon. All is not lost if you can bring up N and P a little.

Thanks guys.

NO3 at 25ppm is too low? I've tried bringing it down using bp but it didn't work. NOPOX for almost a month and it's still stuck at 25ppm.
It stays at 25ppm no matter what I do.

reduce lighting intensity to blues and moderate- Not high water flow

Completely agree. The OP had said he measures nitrates at 25. Phosphates at 0 but I would like to know with what test kit thats all.
Hi RCS82 for NO3 I use NYOS and Salifert.
As for PO4 I use Salifert.

I've never used the salifert P04 test. Is it accurate to a low range?
Could you tell if your P04 was 0 or .01 or .05 or .1 with the salifert test kit?
True that.
Was thinking of getting a Hanna Checker but it's just too expensive here in Malaysia.

They're not on a plug right? Did you receive the frag on a plug? You dipped and cleaned them good?
Do you have any other Montipora?
Yes it was on a plug. Took it off and dipped it, mounted it on the rock.

I do have 2 frags of monti caps but they're not growing at all. But they're coloured up and good PE as well.
