What do you guys suggest for a return pump for my 8 gallon frag tank. Inch or .5 piping (haven’t decided yet) from a sump 3/4 ft below. If possible I would like this to be the only flow in my tank to save space and not need to use power heads. Please let me know what you suggest. Thanks!!

If you really want to be sure this is all the flow in the tank, use the bigger pipe and install a gate valve to control it to the level you want. It wouldn't hurt if you used a DC return pump that has speed control as well.

I have an 11 gallon frag tank with a sump (10 gallon tank, so maybe an additional 7 gallons) that I use a Sicce Syncra 2.0 for the return as my only flow. It's zoas and LPS only, and is just right. It's plumbed with 1/2" tubing.
