Ive noticed that some people perfer to set up more of a frag tub than a frag tank, where you must look down into the water to see the frags. Is this done only because of the amount of extra space that it creates? Ive noticed that a lot of times, the corals seem to look brighter when looking down into the water instead of threw the glass, is this really true, or is it just in my head? Im trying to decide if I just want to use a normal 40 gallon breeder for my frag tank, or use something lower that you look down into the water to look at the frags.

All in what you want or have room for. As far as Coral looking better from above YES! they always look better from the most directly reflected light source and their pigment is most abundant towards the same.

Cheers, Todd
