Curious if anyone has a suggestion to do as little damage as possible but to remove this encrusted monti off of my frag rack .

I do not know if it would work on the rack, but I have had montis spread across the glass bottom of my tank like that and they came up pretty easily by first taking a razor underneath the outside edge all around. Then I took the thinnest putty knife I could find and went all around it with that (since the razor did not get in deep enough). On my glass it worked well.

How many pieces did you end up having to glue onto plugs ?
Should I pull plugs and glue out and expect to have a few pieces break off ?

In my case i had several on the glass bottom and only broke off a couple small pieces. However the big difference is mine were on tile plugs(flat with the surface of glass). That is why I dont know if that approach will work with you I think that gap where your plug sits on the rack may be the point where it wants to break off.

Other thing you could try is cut around the plug using a razor and then see if you can scrape up the rest as one piece (leaving you a hole in the middle where the plug was that could fill in over time). Still not sure if that is possible on that plastic but maybe worth a shot. Not really sure how much tighter the bond will be on that plastic than it was on my glass bottom(which was very easy to detatch from)

I’ve decided to count my loss and leave it on the rack . But also added a purple monti , red monti and rainbow monti to the rack.
Hopefully they grow together
