Getting ready to go on vacation. Things I have /will do for my tank

1) water change
2) ATO reservoir filled up
3) glass cleaned
4) detailed feeding instructions for mother in law
5) WYZE camera set up to be able to see tank
6) inkbird running well and app updated

What else do you do before you go on vacation

You should have extra saltwater on hand in case of an emergency.

Going away for 8 days. ATO reservoir is big enough to cover while I am gone

good idea about saltwater being mixed upin case there is a problem (would call my brother then) will fill a brute trash can with saltwater /heater and a power head for just in case

I think you are all set up, except for make sure the house doesn't go too hot during the day. When my family left for a three week out of the country vacation, I forgot to set a fan to cool down the tank while we are gone and it killed two of my sps.

Good point - I also have the inkbird dual controller that turns on fans of the tank gets to warm. But your right usually we turn off the AC when we leave - need to leave it/set it before we go

looks like you have a good plan in place. I always let another reefing friend know Ill be gone just in case they need to swing by if my pet sitter thinks "something is off"

I think you're ready to rock & roll. Only thing I have is to make sure you do everything the day before the day before you leave. My first year doing this I did a water change the day before leaving a week for Thanksgiving and came home to my pumps gurgling and a tank temp in the 60s because I'd forgotten to plug the ATO back in. Everything survived but it sucked to get in at 11pm and urgently have to deal with tank stuff.

Make sure your skimmer is working. I went on a 4 day trip last week and about 2 hours before we left my pump went bad and wouldn't start. It's still offline awaiting parts in the mail. Lol

plan is to do all the water changes, ATO fill up, punp check, saltwater in the brute etc, tomorrow so that I have Thursday night, Friday and early Saturday morning to make sure all is good and running well.
