It’s an Asterina starfish

The ones I had eat corals, some say they might not, but mine do so ‘bad’ so I would remove them

Once established they can multiply very quickly

+2 for Asterina starfish. I personally would take it out, but you will get varied answers. Some people keep them others remove.

I've never had an issue but I do remove them when it's easy to do so. I've seen enough posts about suspect behavior that I err on the side of caution. I still have plenty in my systems but, when it's easy to do so, I remove them.

There are a few different kinds, hard to tell the difference. some eat sps, some don't. Mine don't, but I know some people who have them do that. They can reproduce extremely quickly, so I manually remove mine.

At one point, I had so many in my tank that the entire front of my 300 gal display was covered with them, the entire sand bed was crawling with them, they were every where. I got 2 little harlequin shrimp and now it takes a while to spot 1 in the tank.

Long story short, they can get out of control.

Thank you guys. I have seen a few in the past and removed them only to see them again after a few weeks. Guess I’ll continue to remove them.
