Is green coralline algae bad for the tank or just looks bad? And what's the best way to remove it without just spreading it?

There are various colors of coralline algae, from green, to red, to pink and purple and various shades of each. They are all pleasing to look at for me, that is. It does deplete your calcium level quickly as it grows and spreads. Some of it grows on rock, glass, equipment, corals and encrusts and sometimes forms plates or whirls in structure.
To remove it, use a scraper or shut off light.
