Stores are already sold out of water. I just hooked up on 12/1 gallon jugs...bottles are gone. Fill up your bath tub with water so you can flush the toilet.

Oh I have plenty of water, food, fuell and power.
if my wholehouse generator get flooded I have one that I can set 6' of the ground and have that fuelling my tank and what not.
I'm just thinking about all these poor ppl without a generator that for years dodged the bullet.
I wish I could talk about my upcoming vacation, hunting trips and how my Inferno nem split in front of my eyes a few days back and more but this is on everyone's mind as we speak.

Well, I think you're far enough west and we're far enough north that our affect will be minimal. The folks in Bay City, Clear Lake, Beaumont, Galveston and Pasadena are going to take it on the chin with the storm surge. Who knows we've also got high pressure working to our advantage hopefully pushing the storm westward into Mexico. I'm just worried about the livestock at the store. We have a backup generator, but it's been awhile since it's been serviced.

I'm not worried about the high winds from this storm but the rain it will drop day after day after day.
Lots of inches of rain.

Ya, I get that, but I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Just do what you can to prepare. My GF and I ran back and forth to my truck to start it (using a voltage inverter hooked up to my cigarette lighter), so I could keep my system alive during Ike. It was crazy running back and forth in 90mph gales with whipping rains, but it worked. You just gotta read and react, and do what is necessary to protect the babies. If it floods, well there's really nothing left to do except leave.

You need one of these buddy

@Diesel, stay safe brother! I only worry about the power at my office, where my tank is. My house will be fine....

Gonna be hard to knock any arrows this weekend!

Lol, arrows will be locked up.
Just got back from the lease in west Tx.
Left some survival corn behind and flashlights for the deer.

Had to make the responsible decision, cancel my hotel reservation in New Orleans, and skip MACNA. I think we will get mainly rain in Sugar Land, but might be a whole bunch.

For the guys and gals going to New Orleans, enjoy yourself and be safe.

I remember 2007 with Ike, each was on his own with your tank and lots of tank crashed even if ppl had a generator but ran out of gas as 20 gallons isn't enough if it runs 7 days and 24 hrs which was a fact.

Ike was a mess! Alison too! I hope we all get spared, but I am afraid the poor folks in Rockport and Port O'Connor are going to have a rough time tomorrow evening. Have a friend with a bay house down there.

I like the " Harvey Wallbanger" thought! Here's to keeping the power on!!!!

Although I have a wholehouse genie, I just drove to a friend of mine in Willis Tx to pick up three more genie's they're small but will support a large tank or a fridge and TV.

When you hunt from behind the string you pull in order to nock a arrow they call you a "string stalker" as you stalk your prey.
Kinda like in this hobby when you buy only small SPS frags and never be able to grow them into colonies they call you "stickhead"

Gotcha...from the time I was in about the 1st grade through 6th or 7th I spent most summer weekends at the archery range down in Victoria.
