Heater placement

What is the preferred place for a heater - DT or sump?

I would like to keep as much equipment out of the DT as possible, so I was planning to put the heater in the sump. I'm not sure which chamber would be best. I'm assuming wherever there is the most flow? Which would be the first chamber, I think? please advise.

You got it! I keep mine in the second chamber along with my skimmer and it’s never let me down. (I say that, watch it’ll let me down today lol)

You can put it anywhere max flow is not necessary however I would avoid the sectional that your return pump goes in because it could possibly run dry and damage heater.
