Heater question

So last night I had to set the temp on my heaters to like 90 Because they keep turning off even tho the inkbird is only reading 77.4. I woke up this morning and my temps are still at 77.4 So I’m going to have to buy a good thermometer and double check my inkbird temp. this is crazy never had so how many problems heating up my tanks in the past.

I have a couple questions for you that you may have stated and I have missed and too lazy to go back and read.

How many heaters do you have? How big is your tank?

i Have two 250w eheim heaters. My tank is a red sea reefer 525xl witch is like 130 gallons probably a little less with rock and sand displacement

Yeah I think you did mention that lol. Ok do this. I know you have two sockets with your Inkbird.
The heater that you have cranked up, plug it into a regular outlet so that there is only one heater plugged into the inkbird. I did this to see if my inkbird settings were off a tad which led to calibration.
The inkbird will turn the heaters off sometime prematurely. Let me know how this works out.

I also calibrated my inkbird against this guy here

Take the inkbird and throw it in the trash. I fought mine for months. I calibrated it several times and it would always drift and several times even jumped 0.6 deg. Replaced the probe, still couldn't get it dialed in. Calibrated with ice water, still drifted after a couple days. Came home once and my tank was 82 deg, came home another day and it was 75. Maybe it's a QC problem and I just got a bad one, but boy was it a bad one.

Mine is def the heater itself, I plugged the heater in a separate outlet, set it all the way up and it kept staying at 75. I had a small glass thermostat and it measures about 75.

maybe I don’t know how to calibrate it lol

If memory serves, the Eheims are bimetalic heaters? Unplug it, leave it in the water for 30min, then plug it back in. I think that's what the instructions say. I know mine also takes a LONG time to heat water compared to my electronic Aqeon heaters.

Can you post picture of the knob you are turning on your heater? With the jager model, it has a knob that you can so call calibrate the heater itself in case its off. Just want tot make sure that you are not adjusting that dial, and not the thermostat dial.
