Hello! I’m Francis, and from San Diego

I’m usually known for having a service dog, owning/rehabbing the random unique/exotic/oddball fish, and replicating academic-validated fish treatments in related research within the seahorse hobby In terms of my tanks, I own a 55 Gallon long mixed-reef tank dedicated to the Coral Sea habitat for my initial pair of hippocampus comes, a minimal-bare bottom 40 Gallon acrylic tank with plastic hitches for the pair of histrix (will transform in a couple of months to a more natural set up), and amphipod culturing set ups. Also have a smaragdina copper 20 Gallon long, planted walstad habitat w/ filtration (for flow) living with 9albino topaz guppies, vampire shrimp, and bamboo shrimp

Due to my interests in animal behavior protocols, psychology, and marine biology, the reef + seahorse habitats I have and will create are generally not recommended due to the variety of challenges that can arise; but the mixed reef+seahorse project is an exception to that rule, hence why I joined the forum to learn from other seahorse-reef hobbyists out here on this forum :) I hope to learn and to spread knowledge as well, so more than welcome to help attached are photos of my seahorses:

Welcome! Glad you joined. SUPER COOL - would love to learn even more from you!

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

Thank you, and glad to have join as well! Always been snooping on threads on this forum, and finally decided to join

I’ve been “threading” the waters so the speak, and may start add one for the histrix natural habitat setting!

I just uploaded a thread this morning on a replication of a study I found in the Experiment Forum/Thread; it has attachments of the 24hr-1 week results) with a drug known to most fishkeepers for it’s used in euthanatizing/anesthetizing properties… Clove Oil! The link to the replication thread can be found: Clove Oil Replication Experiment for Managing Cilliate Infections in a Reef . I hope this pique’s members!
