Hello from UK

Hello,

Ahhh what part of the uk are you from, my mum was born and raised there and goes often. We lived in Brentford, and also Manchester :) I loved seeing Liverpool but was fairly young. I so need to go to back there miss it sooo much. How is the reefing experience there now? I was way to little to know when I lived there but ( now sadly in Idaho), it would be so fun to live in London again, or Manchester, Liverpool or even Glasglow. I had a year of study abroad at Oxford during my Junior year. Some of the formal things lol I sooo messed up on the first few times. They would always laugh and say oh she is from Washington they forget what being formal is lol.

But as most of have said the people here are lovely and the knowledge here is beyond anything you can possibly think of. We are like a living encyclopedia and it’s awesome
Hi Sarah, I'm from Huddersfield, if you follow soccer you will see us in the Premier League. We are 20 miles from Manchester, 10 miles from Leeds. The reef scene seems strong over here but as I said earlier it's many years since I was last active in the hobby which was pretty basic then but the changes are incredible. I had seen the fusion 40 tank a while ago and was going to import one from Denmark but luckily a fellow reefer had one for sale as he was upsizing. We ended up going on a 4 hour drive to Suffolk and stayed over, right next door to Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones, I was going to knock on his door for a sing along but decided against it. The tank is in the corner of the room at the moment waiting for my attention but as we are doing some major home remodelling it will be a few weeks before I start. I hope you make it over to the UK for a visit and who knows the tank maybe thriving by then and you would be welcome to look and have a cuppa. Best Wishes, Jim

Hello,

You will think I’m so crazy but I don’t know soccer literally at all except you kick a ball into the net and run forever. I don’t think I have been to Huddersfield that I remember. But will so ask my mum if she has. That’s awesome about being next to Bill Wyman, lol I would have knocked. I know quiet a few stones songs and more Beatles songs. I would love to go see Aunt Mimi’s homes again. I am curious if Bill Wyman can sing any Disney songs :)

I don't think you are crazy, I have a wife who knows nothing about it too. Our famous supporter is Patrick Stewart ala Capt Jean Luc Pickard, Star Trek and Prof Xavier in the film series. I have lived here all my life and originally it was a prosperous woollen town. Now it's a mixture of things set in the Pennines high up, with beautiful moorland countryside. Don't think I would want to live anywhere else. Jim

Hi everyone, just a short message to introduce myself. I have just bought an IM fusion 40 from a fellow reef keeper , it came with, refugium light, reactor, skimmer, spin streams and some rock to get me started. I will be looking for a light, heater, sand and maybe an apex classic. I intend to take things slowly. I last kept marines over 35 years ago, had a 6x2x2 tank running under gravel filtration and tube lighting. I used natural seawater and the tank thrived, a house move and children put things on ice for a while but always new I would be drawn back to the hobby. Wow how things have changed its hard to get my head around the advancements in the hobby and I am really looking forward to the journey. Thanks for letting me join and best regards to everyone. Jim
Welcome!
And welcome back - from a newbie in AZ where all tanks are heated by sitting near them.
Someone told me reef tanking is like riding a bike... (I'm afraid mine might crash!) ;)
