My green tip anemone has started to just move around ALL the time, he's going all over the place, through small crevices and out of the light act and he generally doesn't look so good,(maybe from burning energy moving around constantly) When he expands his tentacles just aren't impressive anymore and hardly has any visible tentacles, what in the world is going on???
my other rose bubble tip anemone is doing just fine in the same tank, and looks exceptional right now.
Ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ph 8.2
salinity: The inaccuracy of hydrometers blows my mind. out of three hydrometers i am getting 1.023
on one i get 1.025
and on the other i get 1.027
I cannot wait for my refractometer.

Definitely get a refractometer!

As far as the anemone- when you say green tip, I assume you are talking about a green bubble-tipped anemone? Is it still feeding? Are the tentacles still sticky? Have you provided the conditions it likes- foot in a crevice so that it is out of the light and current, plenty of light and some current for the rest of it? How long has it been doing this?

CJ

Green bubble tip, and he ate yesterday, but his tentacles aren't particularly sticky not like they use to be or compared to my rose bubble. He has been doing this for about 3 days now.

And now he has really wedged him self into what I would consider a very bad spot for a anemone, tentacle side is wedged against one side and his foot against the other.

could he be under attack from bristle worms?! I just found one that looked like it was attacking him

Update: Green bubble tip still looks awful and is still on the move, my rose tip is looking better then ever today! I am so lost

I doubt that a bristle worm would bother it at all. It's not looking good at all. You could try catching it and putting it in a basket and nurse it back to health.

I doubt it's going to make it. You might want to take it out now so that it doesn't die and mess up the rest of your tank. Sorry.

Conclusion!

Okay normaly i might agree with the getting rid of it now, but I'm very attached to this one and me and about 6 buddys of mine (fellow reefers from local fish stores) watched it for about a hour and came to the conclusion it just doesn't like being bugged by my clown, at all. it immediately retracts when he gets on it and starts moving around. I am currently working on getting the guy out and separated so he can just relax and I can work on recovery, However Thor (my maroon) clown is making it hard on me. I am going to see if i can slowly make the anemone let go of his rock by his "own will" extremely minor bugging over a long period of time. Ill let you guys know what i figure out.

Try peeling the back gently with ur fingernail or a credit card, good luck

OUCH!!!, I have done things like that in the past but I know the anemone doesn't like being peeled off of its grip, and it really can hurt it. Since I'm trying to nurse a sick anemone back to health I simply pushed on his foot column very lightly ( really more of rested my finger in a glove on it)and over time he got tired of having it there and started to let go in the corner, then i lightly slipped my finger under the area he let go and rested it there until he let go a little more ect, ect, I finally got him and so far he is starting to look like he may be back on the road to recovery

First sign of progress I feel

This morning he was on the side of the jar i have him separated in, he feel off and landed upside down, but about 5 minuets after i set him upright he started looking a lot better, still not great but at least better
