Skimmers remove organics and increase oxygen. Not much effect for toxins.
Ahhhh. So in essence there nothing to do for the toxins released except pray. I thought they would be exported the same way since they are an organic compound essentially. Well that makes me worry about using it again if I can’t remove any toxins created

Young tank with dry start! Dinos will go away I'd you maintain good nutrients. I like to feed heavy. As for the death. There's so many possible causes. Did any one ask if there were any chemicals in the vicinity prior to death?

Do you run carbon? I would consider running some for a few days....it will tackle some toxins, depending....

Nada. I ensure everything around the tank is sterile. Haha I am so paranoid I leave nothing to chance.

@brandon429 , we love ya for many reasons but where are you? After the disease diagnosis.....hasty imo but whatever....
I'm not particularly in love. Though I agree with much of what he says. Not all. I just find his delivery is terrible and if you question him he never responds. He's riding coat tails perhaps and doesn't understand the science behind his answer? He could be right here we just don't know. But he in no way helped us understand what or how

It's unfortunate, I have no experience with dino x. I tend to lean toward natural ways. Not that I am against it. Just personal preference. So I do hope you find the cause of death to help understand. Sorry for the losses

I prefer the natural way too. I was using this because I was hoping it would help me out. What are the natural methods? I also have regular algae growth that has nutrient tests reading low. So I’m not sure the path to go from here

I just recently finished my dino fight. Tank is 5mo with all dry rock start. I dealt with dinos for 2 months. Low nutrients. I fed heavy and blasted rocks daily. Vacuumed sand weekly with 10 % water change. And changed socks daily. I eventually over came it. Also not sure of it helped but I added alot of pods and fed phyto daily from @AlgaeBarn . Once my po4 became detectable I saw them vanish.

It's a common dry start issue and I'm convinced it's just part of the ugly stage in dry starts.

It says that it’s an algaecide that affects the way Dino’s and regular algae functions. It doesn’t get much further into it than that.
Ah ok....similar to Chemiclean I imagine. I dosed that last year, and it worked but it threw everything out of whack for a very long time. Will never do again. 4 or 5 months of crazy? Nah, forget it lol...I'd rather the cyano. I have minimal filtration on my 90, and that likely didn't help. As @Little c big D alludes to, I prefer the natural process as equally painful it may be.

Live Phyto is a Godsend.......it truly is!

I’m feeding pretty heavy. Or what I thought was pretty heavy. I also got some nitrate and phosphate to try and raise it. Nitrate was 0.25 today and phos 0.02. But there is weird algae that the tangs don’t pick at on the rocks as well. There is definitely some spots that are Dino’s as I had them in a previous tank. I picked Dino x as is said it would help with everything minus Cyano.

What is the full stock ( everything) and size ? It is a large tank as I recall originally but my mind wanders lol.

I left out a big part of my fight. I added a green mean killing machine UV. I took it offline after they were gone. There is no sure answer to what ended their reign. Perhaps the team effort and work. But I've beat them. Also how old is the tank and how stable are the nutrients. I had spikes of them.... then 0s

They’ve been consistently low. Around what I’ve listed. Nitrate had been around 2 at its highest.
