Help!! High nitrates

I ran the HOB 100, on my 45 G back in the day, awesome skimmer. Considering you have those tangs, you might need the 2000, maybe the 1000.
I was looking into doing something like this. But okay ill look into those skimmers

To each their own, just sharing experiences!
Okay i wasnt sure if there was a difference between this and the box kind. Is there something else i can do since it cant be drilled?

Go sumpless. I've had success both with and without a sump, by no means are they required, but they do have their pros and cons like anything else.

If you can't drill the tank, HOB skimmer will work well.

If your tank isn't tempered glass, maybe someone near by that's into reefing could drill it for you. I've drilled many tanks over the years. It's easy once you know how and what to look for. That first time is a nail biter for sure. Lol

Bottom of the tank definitely says tempered glass do not drill [emoji22] lol

Okay, but what about the sides? Some manufacturers temper the bottoms only and not the side panels. There's a easy way to tell if it's tempered, but then again the tank needs to be dry anyway. Just for future knowledge I'll find a video that explains how to tell and post it in a minute.

+1 check for tempered sides, its very easy to check. As far as the HOB over flows, I've always been skeptical, but i've heard that they have come a long way and are much safer. I personally would go sumpless before using one, but I've never tried one out either so, take that with a grain of salt.
