Can Anyone Identify these eggs. I found them in the ocean in Culiacan Mexico. They were in a cluster shaped like a necklace. I found 4 clusters. The egg clusters are about 5/8 inches wide. I put them in my saltwater tanks. The egg clusters were the size and shape of a woman's necklace. They have broken apart since I put them in my aquariums. Thanks very much !!

Octopus eggs?
Octopus eggs seem like a good guess to me - especially if the OP found them hanging down from something. I know a few snails with eggs that look similar to this as well, but they would not lay so many.

For clarification here though, OP, can you post a pic or drawing of what you mean when you say "shape of a woman's necklace"?

They were in a circle. I would have had to break them to make one strand. I could pick them up with my fingers and it was like a necklace or chain. They were about 8 or 9 inches long (if it was one long strand.) Octopus seems like what they would be but Octo eggs are more oblong. These are round. They were rolling in the surf. I'm baffled as to what laid these. The egg mass was as wide as my index finger. But they are in my reef tank so hopefully they will be something cool. Thanks

It's possible they are some kind of sea snail or sea slug eggs (though most similar sea slug eggs I know are encased in a transparent outer layer/tube), but I'm not sure what kind. Either way, there is a very good chance that nothing will appear in your tank, as it's actually quite difficult to provide the necessary feed for larval animals (assuming the larvae survived the trip in the eggs to your tank), and if the larvae are planktonic, then they will almost certainly all die from other things in the tank (skimmers, pumps, predation, etc.).

They're very unique eggs though, so even if nothing appears it's still a neat find.
