What is this wrasse????? I have it in my QT (from another reefer) and do not want to add to display until identified. I think it is turning. Anyone????

I have a C. solarensis and H. chrysus currently. Intend to get a pair of C. plyei next month.

Thanks!

The Cirrhilabrus females are so hard to tell apart sometimes. There's a few species that look almost identical.

My best guess is that it is either a female C. cyanopleura or a female C. solorensis.

My guess was a solar or cyano too. I will try an acclilmation box in the main tank and see if I have issues. Thanks.

My guess based on the yellowish patch would be C. lyukyuensis (Yellow patch). I've got a supermale and a female and the female has a faint yellow square like that one. Females being generally less descript in many species can be difficult to tell for sure, though.

Females are always harder to id due to no-one selling them and the less distinct color. At least, I should have no problem with the current wrasses and her.

Thanks.

I would say a juvenile C. lyukyuensis.
Here are a couple of mine to compare, one a juvenile and one full male.
