Thanks in advance for yiur help!
One of my acans is dying. My gold torch is retracting, 2 heads of my candycane are dying. Any ideas? The rest of my LPS are thriving. Zoas doing well, SPS doing well. Open to ideas, any info you need let me know and I'll get it. My fish are all reef safe. Lighting has been the same for about 6 months (led/t5). I have some aiptaisia that I've been killing with aiptaisia x.

Parameters:
PH - 8.0
ALK - 8.3
MAG - 1390
CALCIUM - 475

What are your no3 and PO4? How long have they been in system?

So sorry for delayed reply I didn't get notifications. Only shrimp is a blood red fire shrimp. Never seen him pick around any coral. Only crabs are blue leg hermits. Pop was at 25 at the time. I can retest today. Dipped and moved torch to a different tank. Candycan kept retracting and I tossed it. I removed and dipped the acan. Put it on a frag rack and now it is looking better.

The hammer looks like maybe it was irritated by a crab, possibly just crawling on it. The candycane looks like something was eating/stinging it on the underside. You could have just fragged off the one head, you didn't have to toss the whole thing.

Torch was definitely not just walked on as this is the state this coral was in for a few weeks. Candycan loss continued to spread to more heads. Threw it out as a percaution. Possible its this white stringy stuff? My watermelon is now starting to get some discoloration

Anything near the candy cane that could have stung it?

They are usually very hardy.

Candy canes will sting each other. Here's mine in action. Exactly the same as your purple n green stinging my nuclear greens.

Also if i can say, your "torch" looks a lot like a hammer. A lot of hammers have long tentacles and are more "pudgy" than torch tentacles. You may want to look into that lol

Wow okay didn't know that about the candycanes good to know. Thanks for that. And it is definitely a torch promise. Just not a happy torch.
