Hey guys so I've decided to buy a microscope (because water bears of course) but I have no idea what to look for. There are quite a few on Amazon for around $50 with 1000x zoom. Is that good enough or??

I'd like it to be powerful enough to identify algaes and tiny critters in my tank. Oh and the cheaper the better (seriously).

I keep kicking this idea around, but I never seem to pull the trigger and buy one.

I used a TELMU 40x-1000x to find the water bear. It's $60-$70 on Amazon. I was lucky enough to get it for Father's Day. I liked that it comes with glass slides and a phone platform for pics (not great but okay)..

Hey what are the pros and cons of that one? I'm pretty lost on what features I should be looking for
