Help me

@vicmonahan139
Honestly at this point if I were you I'd stick to freshwater. I dont say that often and I hate when I have to. But I, along with numerous users on here, have given you solid advice continuously over the past couple days . I have linked to you the threads you need to read over to be both successful in this hobby, and answers all the questions you are continuously asking both in other threads and in our PM, and you continue to ignore those threads and advice given. You need to learn patients. As a 14 year old you are most likely used to everything being given to you and not having to wait and earn stuff for yourself, two things that right off the bat are not good for a saltwater aquarist. Again I hate to say it, but freshwater is probably the better path for you.

I agree you need to slow down and do a lot of research. That being said, you can be successful with a smaller tank. My first reef tank was a sumpless, skimmerless 10 gallon and I never had any issues with it. I kept mainly softies with some lps, did regular water changes and everything was fine.

What and how many fish you can keep will be the biggest limiting factor. Since you seem to be more interested in the fish, figure out what kind and how many fish you would like to really keep, then we will be able to help you better with tank size and maintenance recommendations.

I've read the dang articles but it's the price is what I'm freaking out about. Also I was not handed everything I'm working day and night I haven't slept in weeks!

Thank you. I'll try and buy a 40 gallon nano tank , canister filter, small skimmer, and heater and lighting and salt water and live rock and live sand. Also I know the nitrogen cycle the price is the part that's freaking me out. All I want to do is look at fish and relax and forget about my problems. I'm going to try and get cheap equipment. I will not do a sump because I can't afford it now. One day though I will take the fish I will have in my 40 gallon and upgrade them to a bigger tank.
You’re not saving money by getting a canister filter instead of a sump. You can build your own sump easily.

A saltwater tank is a big time commitment. Sounds like maybe you are too busy for one. If cost is such a huge concern, freshwater can still be very interesting and beautiful, especially in a fish only system.

evidently not or you would have remembered my message on profanity.
I've said what I need to say. It is my belief that you are trolling the forum, and I will not be assisting you any further. Good luck in your journey.

Sorry sorry about cursing I don't like when people make accusations/assumptions about me.

Sounds like a good plan. Be aware your canister will need a lot of cleaning. Also look for mostly dry rock, and maybe a piece or two of live. It’ll be cheaper and the chances of introducing things like bristle worms and aiptasia are a lot more slim.

Scroll up I quit my dream because I'm a self centered idiot who can't follow directions. But maybe I'll just steal some supplies who knows I'm dizzy and angry. Woo

Well that’s no way to be, honestly. People are trying to help. You can take the advice or leave it, up to you

You will only waste money, get frustrated, and leave the hobby if you jump in with what limited knowledge and resources you have now. You won’t be sitting in front of a tank that makes you forget about your problems.
Maybe get a job at lfs, or maintenance company. You’ll learn a bunch

I'm trying but money exists and sleep deprived and angry from research and anxiety
I get it, but you’ll only get more frustrated thinking like that. Step back take a breath and relax. Yes it’s expensive but if you’re not going to take things slow, save your parents wallet, and find something else to do.

A great first start is an AIO (all in one) system. They are typically not so big that a sump is needed and everything you need, short of substrate and rock are included. My first was a Fluval M40, 16 gallon. It’s small but all I do is take two pitchers of water out and replace it every two weeks and add a few cup fulls of water to top off every day.

I also have a Fluval Sea 5gallon AIO but it’s really to small to do much. I happen to have Fluval cause that’s what the LFS sells but there are others. Check with the stores in your area.
