Hi,

This is my first Icp test I’ve ever done and I’m very confused on the phosphate test result, can anyone help me because I’m confused if my phosphate is too high or is it too low!
Phosphorus measured 0.073
Total Phosphate measured 0.22

i have always tested Po4 with a Salifert test kit so I’m a bit confused looking at the results, I understand everything else I need to get in line but I’m struggling with the Phosphate for some reason!

Any help with it would be much appreciate.

Cheers

HI
a ICP Machine detect the Element P and all Phosphorus which is in the water. The normal water tests detect only. Phosphate. ( Po4) to calculate the maximum available Po4 the detected Elemenot P will be multiplicate with 3,066. So the test showed that the level of Po4 is to high

Yes your phosphate is high anywhere between 0.05 to 0.10 is acceptable

Brightwell phosphate remover works great thats what I use

Look at the reference range to see what is considered ok. Then look at your value and compare. They also use colors with the numbers so yellow is a little too high, red is too high and green is good. Black is within the reference range.

There are several possibilities to control the Po4 level in a Reef Tank. Before you use any Adsorber start to control your technic like skimmer and flow, The ammount and kind of food you add. If you have sand , change it step by step with new sand, Also check your PH Swing.
