So I just refilled my ato with kalk water and I didn't think about the fact that my tank was running a little low. The ato turned on and pumped 2 or 3 gallons of freshly mixed kalk water into the tank (125g tank 40g sump). It's very cloudy now, am I in trouble?

Everything seems normal, nems are all open fish are foraging, corals are starting to close up but it's about that time anyways. The water has cleared up a little bit in the last 15 mins, should I be worried?

Could you test your alk and ph. And report back? Also check your salinity. I dose 1.2 gallons daily into a 130 gallon tank. Witch runs an addition of about 1dkh. In your case, salinity lowered with an addition of the alk. The cloudyness is precipitate of calcium carbonate due to a high ph (and or high alkalinity levels) You would want to do a water change to get everything back to normal just to minimize risk. The biggest issue you'd have is an abnormally high ph, a raise in alkalinity, and a drop in salinity. Will need to tackle those issues pretty quickly before something goes south.

Thanks for the reply, should I test now or wait for things to settle a bit first?

Try to aerate the water so ph can come back to ambient c02/oxygen equilibrium. Ph is potentially still very high. Face pumps toward water surface to promote agitation. Get a test on alkalinity and salinity. The fish aren't acting up right?

The fish seem fine. Ph tests at 8.3 Alk is 12dkh... (it was 10 yesterday) Also, I am testing with a freshly expired api kit and confirming with a very expired hagen kit.

Should I throw in a couple air stones?

Sorry about that, was watching the spacex falcon I think you should be fine. The corals might not be so happy, sps might experience a burnt tip or 2. I'd let alk Fall naturally, no dosing for a day or so. Atleast the ph is in range. Fish should be fine. Give it some time to let it clear up a bit. Can use the air stone if you'd like. Could also face your power heads toward the water surface. The purpose of that is to bring ph back to your usual level.

Cool thanks for all the help! Water is pretty clear now and I will just keep testing before I dose anymore
