Help with a fish please!

hello guys, one of my Anthias have something on the eye. It looks like the eyes its coming out. Doesnt have ick. Just the eye. Everything else its fine. Any medication I can use thats reef safe? Thank you

+1 That's pop eye which is a bacterial infection in the eye. With it just being the one eye, it could be an injury that got infected. You can feed the fish vitamins in their food to help bolster their immune system (selcon is one example) and see if the fish can fight it off naturally. You can also feed antibiotics to the fish (while in the display) using Seachem's Focus to bind the med to the food. It's slow acting this way, but it will help. Antibiotics to try include Kanaplex, Furan 2 and Metroplex.

You'll aslo want to make sure you keep the water in pristine condition while he's healing.

Is metroplex reef safe? I have it but never used.

You can also treat with Epsom salt (reef safe) at a dosage of 1 tablespoon per 5 gals to help relieve swelling of the eye.
