If you're trying to do a LPS/SPS tank
Is green star polyps bad for SPS do they expel a toxin that kills SPS

They don't hurt SPS per say they do put out a sting if they touch SPS. An will kill branches that they touch more than anything. But that is true with all corals to some extent. I have GSP in my tank for my wife she likes it. The rest of the tank is SPS.

Ime I won't do star polyps with sps, it's simple, compare both in a balance, price and how many care take them to grow, gsp will take over, while you could expend more cash in getting sps frags, gsp would be almost taking over your tank, plus sps take the most time and effort to care for, not to forget water quality and lightning that it's required for them.

Not that i know of, but if youd like to add gsp i dont see a problem other them fighting for space. Just run some carbon if you feel a little iffy

GSP looks nice on the sand bed. If it does migrate onto rock (where presumably you don't want it) just remove the rock and coat the GSP with Kalk paste, let it set for a few minutes then thoroughly rinse before returning the rock to the tank.

Well thanks everyone for your input helps a lot, I was tould by some one that gsp will kill my sps I have it on the back of tank growing out because it looks better then black with purple spots:), I run carbon and Gfo. I'll remove if it's that big of a deal, I figure if nothing touches I should be fine:)
