Help with clown trigger

55 gallon water change today, everyone is doing well. Puffer seems to have found himself and is swimming up and down the back glass a bit. Never knew a trigger would arrack nori like this guy. Dosing prazipro at 8

They certainly will! I have two that will eat Nori with more gusto than most of the tangs at our store.

Ok, strange situation. Remember this is all new to me. After 2nd dose of prazipro and a water change, my black dogface puffer has been swimming up and down in the corner almost like he's fighting with his reflection. I'm talking 4 hours at a time with 2 minutes to eat, then back at it. This was not his behavior when we got him, he was actually calm and social, and usually came up as you approached the tank.

I'm out of town till Wednesday so I am going on my wife's description b

That is odd, but prazi only stays active in the water for like 24-48 hours..... so if he's reacting to that (I dont think so) then it will stop in a day or two. Maybe there is somebody or something stressing him out- which I think is more likely.

the purple tang was doing it before him, and he and the trigger do compete with each other for resting spots in the rock

maybe they are just being weird with each other. Behavior is more of an @evolved or @eatbreakfast thing. Maybe they can lend an idea or two for this part.

Pacing up and down in a corner is usually a case of the fish seeing it's reflection and perceiving a rival and trying to 'fight' with it. Unfortunately, neither one backs down. In most cases it dies down after a day or two, though not always.

Good Lord, he's going to wear himself out.... That's what I figured

So 72 hours after second dose, puffer still doing the fighting thing. He devoured a clam and some krill though.

I read on another thread about bloating and parasites. When I first posted a pic of the trigger,

someone mentioned he looked skinny. He is an absolute pig, eating as much as the tang and puffer combined. He even eats most of the nori, with the tang getting what he can. Here are two pics I just took. Does he look bloated or just like a little pig?

If the bulge goes away every day and comes back after eating then he's just a pig. to me he looks fine.... just well fed.

Thanks Meredith. He's definitely getting the lions share of the food the past few days
