Noticed this brownish growth on the stony part of my Frammer. It looks kind of like the Mushrooms I have on a separate rock. Any ideas, I’m stumped.

I’m not sure, but that looks like a vermetid snail (I don’t see a tube though). It could be some kind of a worm. Someone else can correct me.

I can’t see a tube at all, tomorrow I’ll check to see if it’s hard or soft. A Vermetid Snail and a Slipper Limpet should be hard shelled, correct?

Yes to both. Personally, although I tend to tolerate vermiteds, once they start growing on a coral, they become targets for extermination.

The stuff you are talking about is not a vermetid, but there does appear to be one down and to the left.
Are you referring to the black circle? I have crushed a couple of really small Vermetid snails on this coral when all I could see was the tubes.

The black circle appears to be part of the coral, maybe an old branch that died. The brownish colored thing is hard, maybe Slipper Limpet, it looks like it is many stacked on each other, smallest on bottom and largest on top.
