Hi Everyone,

I have a three month old tank that I've been very patient with and taking my time. I have successfully added a GSP and it's growing very well. The other day I got a free Zoa from my LFS and I added it to the tank. I placed in a medium flow area and in the middle of the tank. It barely opened. I then moved it to the gravel to see if it was getting too much light and nothing. I've now moved into a low-flow area and on the gravel and nothing.

I have a PAR meter on the way so I will make sure I'm getting the right light in the tank. I'm running a Maxspect Razor R5 light with the wifi adapter. Being new to lighting a reef tank, I'm struggling to get the right mix of light. I have used the auto program for a soft/LPL tank which has my light set to White 70%; Deep Blue 35%; Violet 35%; Warm White 70%. Kelvin is at 10K.

Water Parameters are:
PH-8.13
Alk - 8.0
CA2 -415
MG 1300
NO3 - 6.0
PO4 - 0
SG - 33

I'm increasing feedings to get the PO up.

My questions:

1. Do you see anything obvious I should be changing?
2. Can anyone respond with the exact steps I should take when I get the PAR meter? I understand how to measure the different areas of the tank for PAR. The LFS said to shoot for 100 PAR but I'm not clear if that should be at the gravel level? Also, what do I adjust to get to the PAR I need? Do I need to move each color? The Kelvin? Feel free to over explain this..I appreciate the help!

Start extremely low on light. If zoas need more, they'll stretch out. That's your sign to increase intensity, wait a week and adjust some more if needed. It's pretty surprising how little light zoas actually need. Far less than LPS ime.
