Finally plumbed our 265. Previous tank was plumbed with a bean animal but we didn’t want to drill the back of this one. I’m getting some gurgling and the drain on the left doesn’t seem to purge. I recognize it has a bit of a way to travel but I made sure to keep it in a downward slope and didn’t use any 90 degree elbows. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I have used yellow arrows so you can see which drain I am talking about.

Thanks again!

Are those just Dursos and return lines? Did you consider running dual Herbies?

We did. However we didn’t want to drill the back of the tank at all. Thus we ended up with two returns and two dursos

You do not have to drill for a Herbie but you will have to come up the back & over the top.
I use 2 3/4" Sea swirls on mine.

Might be able to do this. We want to TRY to not had anything on the back in this tank. What about a single drain herbie....is that even a thing?

I use dual Durso setup without gurgling. I had gurgling at first but was able to get rid of it by increasing return pump speed.

I tried that today to no avail. I have a DC pump so I hoped that would be it. Could you share more info on your setup? Maybe a picture?

For those who may ask. The drains are literally ½” under water.

Here's an idea. Use one return. And the other 3 as a bean. Its the same just spread out wider.
The two drains won't keep up with inflow. Unless they are full syphon.
Lower the returns 2-4 " and take the 90's off and put 'T' s on them.

You’re onto something for sure. Was also thinking of adding valves and tuning a bit.

Bahhhh. I’m getting desperate. I would hate to change the entire design. Not understanding why one overflow is fine the other is like a hot tub in the sump. Thus the tank draining is totally weak!
