i’m tired of making a 70 mile round trip to my lfs every time i need RODI water and want to purchase a rodi system but i’m clueless i was looking at the aquaticlife on amazon and it had great reviews and i’m leaning towards that one since it’s priced well compared to other systems. on the other hand i’ve seen a lot of people in YT using the brs system, what would y’all recommend, i won’t be using it much as i only have a 20 gallon tank and two 5 gallon qt

It's super easy to swap the filters on the BRS unit, and you could even use other brands of filters with no issue, because they utilize a generic canister system.

I'm not familiar with that amazon unit, but if you have to replace that whole plastic cartrige, it might be expensive?

BRStv also has *really* good video how-to's on setting it up, installing it, etc.

I have the aquatic life one, and it's been great! however it really doesn't produce 100 gpd, more like 50-75. with that said, the cartridges aren't expensive to replace.

What ever you decide, spend $10 on a pressure guage. I had no idea how bad my pressure was and mynsystem was only producing 1gl an hour, meaning my waste water amount was tremendous.

The amount of water you are producing probably would not require a boost pump. But once I saw how bad my pressure was, i introduced a boost pump and my production went from 1 to 6 gl an hour

I had that Aquatic Life system once and ended up returning it. The supplied spigot adapter kept blowing off of my bathroom faucet! The threads didn't match correctly or something. Contacted the company and they sent me another one. Same deal. Was a standard bathroom faucet. I wasn't impressed.

I've learned in this hobby, sometimes going cheap just isn't worth it. It usually ends up costing more in the long run.

I had a used 4-stage SpectraPure system off of eBay for less than $150 with new filters and had 0 TDS for as long as I owned it.

I recommend this one.https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/4-stage-75gpd-plus-ro-di-system-bulk-reef-supply.html it has a tds meter and the pressure gauge. It’s the same one I have. Brs ones are easy to upgrade and they have lots of options on the brs website. Also if you have room for it you can get a 10 or 20 gallon brute for water storage. I have a 20g cheap and always have water ready to go.https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/4-stage-75gpd-plus-ro-di-system-bulk-reef-supply.html

go for the BRS 4 stage 75GPD unit. I did and then within a month I added additional units and made it the 7-stage (spending more than I would have if I just bought the 7-stage right out of the gate.
