I know its a granulosa, not sure what kind. Is granulosa in the acropora family? I actually wanted to know the common name over the scientific name.

I have my doubts that it's a granulosa. Either way, it's not an "Ice Age Granulosa" unless you purchased it as that. Otherwise, it looks like a mariculted colony of some type of Acropora.

I believe is a granulosa. I have the same coral. Mine was wild caught:

It could be a granulosa, but i totally agree that it can't be a named coral or you would already would know it is. If you pass it along (sell/trade) as "Ice Age Granulosa" you are passing an impostor. IMO

So for a species ID, if it tables it's probably granulosa. Or "Acropora cf. granulosa" would be the proper identification.

OR! if it keeps branching like it is then growing into a bush. Then i'd say Acropora cf. loripes.

Was told it could be "northern lights granulosa".

Well you can call it what ever you want. With out lineage it doesn't matter. If you don't know for sure it came from the Northern Lights Granulosa colony from Vivid then you are passing it as a fake. IMO

I am not 100% sure on lineage. Picked it up at a local lfs a month ago. Just might stick with what it was sold to me as, Acropora granulosa. That's what it was listed as.

Then the lineage starts with you. It's a sweet Acro. If it keeps a good color and adapts to your aquarium as it would anyone else's. Then I would want "Icemountians Granulsoa" just as much as I would want Vivid's "Northern Lights Granulosa".

Icemountain's granulosa it is. The color has only been getting better in the month I have had it.
