Help with Sps please

My guess is it is related to the Alk swing, and running Alk on the higher side given your other parameters. I had the same thing happen, lost a couple very nice colonies, and it took a while to recover. Be careful with your water changes as the RSCP salt mixes to around 12 dKh. Either do smaller more frequent changes or you can bring it down in your new salt water with a little muratic acid.

Just my opinion.

Yes the new salt have a high alk. Where do I get muratic acid?

Home Depot also. But be careful with it...the stuff is nasty. And it doesn't take much, so you'll need to do it slowly and test again.

Water changes every saturday 20g. Today I did a 30g.
Im sorry if i passed it up, but what size tank? I agree with twillard, i would give it a triton test. I have 3 unopened buckets of rscp that i havnt used because the batches tested over 200ugl for mangese also with traces of al + copper and had the same die off that looks like your photo on a green slimer.

Its a 120g with 40g sump. My tank looked better when I was using reef crystals. I think im gong back to RC

im curious the answer to this as well. i had a month were every tenuis that was 1-3 months in my tank let go like this from the base up.

really irked me, so i chaulked it up as a disease. everything else thrived. to this day i can only think of poor lighting, or disease.

i dipped and found nothing.

hope others can find the cause.

Will it be safe for corals, inverts, and fish?

It's hydrochloric acid. It is a very strong and concentrated acid so if you get it on you it will burn and if you add to much to the tank the pH drop will be large. I suggest diluting in RO water then adding very small volumes and watching effect on pH. Use caution
