Hot-Glue?

Try the big bottle of Boston Reef Farms Reef Glue if you want to save money.
I can do about 1000 frags from one bottle of glue for around 13 bucks or so, the bottle are huge. Also, if you keep the tip clean then you dont have to worry about clogs. If it does clog then cut a little more of the glue off.
I have used about every different type of glue and have found this one to be the best.

Here is a link of the exact stuff I use. Kevin (Aloha Corals) is a sponsor here and a great guy to deal with. Aloha Corals - Boston Aqua Farms Reef Glue

I dont think hot glue would stick to a standard plug. Not only that, its would be a glob of hot glue mess...

I think i've used that brand before, how do you go about cleaning the tip? I can never get it to stay open!

i regularly use the superglue gel from the dollar store but recently i've started using the two-part putty. I don't think the hot-glue will hurt the corals. I mean I do most of my frags in a qt tank after gluing. I might pick up a glue-gun and try it out

If you try it out update us I would love to know if it will work!

I use the ic gel. Some people get friends together and do a group buy. If nothing else at least it saves on shipping. I have gone thru many tubes in the last few years and they dont clog as long as you dont touch the tip to anything wet. I have left them open for several hours when I forgot about them and they did not dry and clog.

i used hot glue on my magnets to keep them from rusting and haven't hurt any thing yet it was glued like 10 weeks a go

I would say that the only concern would be the heat. even when gluing with crazy glue gel there is a exothermics reaction(releases heat) this is why it is best to scure the coral and put it in the water to set it and thermally transfer the heat to the water.

If I would not end up in a divorce for using my wife's hot glue gun I would have tried it first and reported back!
