How do I lower nitrate?!

Nitrates are the prime reason water changes are a thing in fish tanks in general. Other methods would be running a refugium with macroalgae which will consume a lot of that nitrate. Additionally in mature tanks or at least mature live rock you will eventually end up with a type of bacteria capable of converting nitrate into pure nitrogen which exits the aquarium. There are some additives that will lower nitrates, but they're not a long term solution and can cause more problems than they solve.

Also as your tank ages corals will grow and if enough of them use up some too.
