Like the title says. I have had Majano in my tank for a long time and it is multiplying like crazy. even growing in between my zoas. What has worked for you guys? thanks in advance

I have found plastique explosives work well although it is a little hard on the tank seams.

Seriously though I have heard being very dilligent with Kalk paste to be the best solution short of cooking all the rock. Good luck and just be persistent!

so kalk paste. Do I just make a thick mix of kalk powder and water, or should I mix it into a liquid and inject them? I have heard of the lemon juice thing before. Is there a specific type and do I just inject them with the lemon juice? Thanks again

a liquid mix of kalk and try to get it in the mouth, works best. make sure you turn off flow while you kalk them though or all will be for naught!

IME they do not multiply like aiptasia when scraped off the reef, used this technique on many tanks, never had an issue. Just be sure you get the whole foot, they come off way easy.

get a real needle and inject it with some vinagear, it will be gone the next day...

The problem is that my tank is 30 inches deep and 36 inches wide with over 500 lbs of rock. I cant reach alot of them

Some fish are suppose to work on them. Seagrass file fish i bought one awhile ago but it did not work for me had to pull all my rock out piece by piece and scrape them off with a screwdriver make sure you get it all :)

The only problem with pulling my rock out is that they are set up in pillars that I created and they are full of coral. Will any of the tactics mentioned above hurt or kill any of my zoanthids or palys? I have a big rock of really nice superman zoas and the majano are growing in between the polyps.

Kalk paste works MUCH better if you make the solution heavier (more dense) than water, so it sinks easily. Basically it will just pour out of your syringe. I use glycerol for this. I think Joe's Juice uses simply sodium chloride.

ok Thanks for all of the info. Does anyone know how any of the above mentioned tactics will affect my zoas and palys if the solution gets on them. The reason that I ask is because many of the majano are mixed in with my zoas and palys. Thanks again

it is very easy to use targeted, especially if you make the paste dense as stated above, although if you get it on a zoa/paly it will can kill them or make them generally unhappy

ok good to know. I think that I have enough info to get rid of them. Thanks for all of the help and I will let you guys know how everything turns out.

I used aiptasia X... wiped out the smaller ones but the huge ones took a double or triple dosage.
