stay at less than ideal temperatures and survive? I received an acan frag pack yesterday. I opened the other corals but didn't root around the box. In my excitement, I inadvertently overlooked the fact that I ordered them and had the box thrown outside.
Temps last night were around mid 50s. I only realized it 15 minutes ago (0810 EST) and quickly threw the acans in to temp acclimate. Probably too late.

This has not been a great past few days. Let's just say, Murphy and I are good buddies.

Yikes, They can survive for a few hours probably but I would not hold my breath that they will make it :/

I've known acans to be really resilient. 50's is pretty cold, but it's worth trying to save them for sure. I'd keep them well shaded.

I can't really shade them too much. The best I can do is keep them on the sand bed at the lowest light level. I could turn off the t5s for the day and set my Kessil back to acclimation period.

I put them in the tank roughly 10 minutes ago. I had to meet the windshield repair guy outside. I came back in and I do see them opening up and their feeder tentacles are coming out. I don't know how to take that. I think all but one hasn't opened. When I put them in to temp float, the tissue had closed and was sunken in. Extremely mad in other words.

They are looking pretty good, typically if they are going to die they stay shriveled up and then they kind of just melt away.

Yes. Forgot completely. I had so much going on yesterday. Between the frustration of breaking my windshield after a wiper replacement, on the phone with insurance setting up a time for the repair, and the kids running around, it's a wonder I got the first portion in the tank at all!!!!

The acans are very pretty. I spent WAY too much money. It was a big box.

Here are the acans and I reckon chalice currently:

Thanks guys for the input. Time will tell. Hopefully for the best.

They are perfectly Ok by the looks of it. Just feed em. Acans are very very resilient.

I once has lepastrea and favia in water over 40C and they made it. These acans are really beautiful. I wonder where you get these from?
