I have 160gal total volume ,mainly sps frags, started the tank 3mo ago.I am dosing 275ml each of 2 part per day with my DOS metering system(very happy with this purchase!)just wondering if this is about the norm for my size system?

Assuming you mean my DIY recipe (like BRS sells), that's about 2.4 dKH of alkalinity per day, which is a reasonably common amount. 1-4 dKH per day is a common range. :)

Approx 500 gallon total system, 325 is display/frag, somewhere around 60 sps frags, 10 lps frags, currently dosing approx. 200 ml of alk and cal using randys recipe

Randy's Recipe #1 alkalinity part starts with 594 g of sodium bicarbonate. All of the alkalinity from that ends up in 1 gallon of solution. The molecular weight of sodium bicarbonate is 84.0066. Therefore, there are 594 / 84.0066 = 7.07 moles (7,070 meq) of alkalinity in that gallon. That means 7.07 / 3.785 = 1.87 moles per liter. Your 275 mL dosed daily contains 1.87 * 275 = 514 millimoles. Your tank has 160 * 3.785 = 606 liters, so you are adding 514 / 606 = 0.848 meq/L per day. To convert meq/L to dKh, multiply by 2.8, so that's 0.848 * 2.8 = 2.37 dKh.
