so i have my tangs in a separate tank for hyposalinty. for the last 4 weeks it looked like it was getting better slowly. but today all of a sudden all the fish have white spots and is scarping all over the place. im still feeding the Nori. did i do something wrong??? the salinity is at 1.009 and i have been maintaining ph at 8.0

Unfortunately, there are hypo resistant strains of ich (proven by Yambot in 2003). Your best bet is to start slowly raising SG, and treat with with either copper or Chloroquine phosphate.

OR you could begin treatment today (while still in hypo) if you did TTM: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/tank-transfer-method.192655/

Post photos of the fish with white spots if you can, so we can be sure this is indeed ich and not velvet.

Yes! Pictures please! It must be difficult to monitor separate tanks for hypo conditions.... am I misunderstanding that? You have like two different tanks setup for hypo with two different fish in each?
