As title says, I also have a screen top around my entire tank and this little lyretail anthia manage to jump from the feeder hole where my apex feeder goes into! Out of all the places

anyone else hate how fish manage to escape the smallest holes possible?!

My Carpenter's wrasse recently made "the big leap". He landed on the cold wood floor, I was busy and by the time I came back, I was just a bit too late. It sucks losing fish and corals no matter how it happens!

I lost my Blue Flasher Wrasse today [emoji30]
He landed on my coast to coast overflow and I had a wire for my Gyre that kind of blocked him from flopping back in.

Also just about to loose a Copperband Butterflyfish that never ate. Bummer day.

I feel your pain. After QTing the fishes with no lid for 3 weeks and feeding them like kings they go flying with a screen top installed!!

My midas blenny jumped out after I performed a water change. I didn't notice for quite some time and when I saw him I thought he was dead. Then when I went to pick him up he started moving so I put him back in. He survived for months and I thought he learned his lesson but one day I came back home and found him on the floor dried up....

Somewhat irrelevant, but funny story. I have fresh water tanks as well and one of my favorite creatures are crayfish. I purchased a red small one one day and put him in the tank and a couple of days later I lost him. Never found him or his carcass. One day over six months later, I was cleaning my washer/dryer room and there he was, behind the dryer all dried up, a mummy. That room is like 30 feet from the tank across the living room and dining room so he definitely went for a walk, poor guy!

My BJF jumped through a hole the size of a nickle, boy that made me mad. Some fish are for whatever reason driven to jump out. There is no way my fish just got lucky, or unlucky.

Sorry for your loss.

Its amazing how these fish find the smallest holes and shoot themselves right through out onto the floor, I had a fire fish perform the same stunt through a slight opening on my screen top that was not perfectly seated on top of the tank correctly.

How about trash can lurkers
