I have a friend (tim wijgerde) who does coralscience and research. I shared a few prunnings with him for his past research.Perhaps you could research some of the groups attempting to restock the coral reefs? Maybe I'm crazy, but never know if any are near by or willing to pay for you to send them large amounts of frags.
You get my point. I was hoping others would share theirs way too.Tank is beautiful btw, I'm sure the pruning requires a lot of work and as you mentioned, keeping it looking good to the eye can't be easy.
Yikes, save a little of that salt for you water changes.Sorry but this is kind of strange....Glenn, you are a very known Dutch retailer who invented the so called DSR method.
Good for you, but you are a professional and not an average hobbyist. You don't sell your frags to hobbyists, you distribute them to several different shops in the Netherlands. This is common knowledge in the Dutch reefing community and documented on several Dutch fora.
Maybe you don't intend to, but this post just does not feel sincere....

You know Glenn, with the tremendous success you have, is it possible that some of the coral trimmings could be reintroduced to a natural reef? I wonder if a University somewhere would want to use donated frags to determine the feasibility of repopulating a natural reef.Haha ...
Some really think i am kidding around or just trolling.
It's more than that...
In holland many reefers have this "problem".
Many just throw their pruning into the bin, because they can't get rid off these.
By sharing thoughts we might come up with a practical and executable solutions which might benefit all parties involved.
I believe this one is an Acropora TeniusGet rid of those stags and get some tenius they grow much slower
I have the scarus quoyi in my acan tankGet yourself a nice parrotfish.
Serious question....
We see so many super reef tanks such as this one (WOW) from the Netherlands - why? Don’t mean this as a disrespectful question - there seems to be a lot of the Dutch passionate about this hobby but is it down to better knowledge, equipment or products not available elsewhere, is the hobby cheaper than say in the UK so reefer can afford more corals or better ones? Or just that the Dutch are better
Chris
This tank is stunning and I ve seen a number of reef tanks like this from the Netherlands.
Glenn how long has this tank been running and out of interest what are the parameters?
Once again stunning tank.
Chris
Wooahh tell me secret to have that same grow , O wont complaint, your tank look gorgeous and beautiful amazingly awesome.I realy hate this....[emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]
I love the corals, i love the many species, i love the beauty of it all, i love the growth/growthrate.
But the one thing i hate is pruning and the aftermath....
- I hate the work involved.
- I hate it that the tank look like **** in the weeks/months after.
- I hate lobbying with the cuttings.
How do you guys deal with excessive growth?![]()
