SO I have a mature tank that is 90% automated. I run it as a low nutrient system for years (over 10 low nutrient). However the tank is 22 years old. i do vodka dose and use mechanical as well as refugium with chaeto to keep nusance algae at bay. Observation shows chaeto seems to have stoped growing but has not perished. Frag tank and MD are tied in however. The light is same as on main display. light schedule and intensity is adjusted however in the farg tank (LOWER).

Following is my recent testing:
Conductivity 35.5
temp between 77-78
Po4 .02 red sea and hanna checker
No3 - 2 or 3 using fauna marin and red sea
Ca 500
alk 9 dkh red sea (this test may be questionable as i think my test kit has been bad for a while but I should be able to confirm when i get my new test kit on Tuesday) *** alk may have been in the low range at 4-5 dkh befor raising it to 9dkh now. However, I can not confirm because i think my test kit is bad.
Mg 1250 red sea

I also sent away an ICP test last week which should be available to me soon and can share here when results arrive.

Please ID if you know what type of algae it is and how I should remedy to rid of it. Thanks in advance!

Apparently tough to get rid of....

Bryopsis- yes. Pull as much as you can by hand.
I had great success with use of liquid Vibrant.?took about 3 weeks to destroy it

Purchased vibrant today... do i need to shut down the skimmer while treating? i did take GFO out of system.

I thought I would share my ICP results. Hopefully to get a better idea what could be causing this.

I am wondering if the high Bromine has anything to do with this issue?

It does not contribute to algae but rather has an effect on color on your SPS, and can cause harm to hard coral at high levels . Its a method of color enhancement not achievement for coloration.
I too recieved a crappy ICP result today with metals being a slight issue. My Mag and Calcium extremely high. Looks like water. Changes for me over the next few weeks.

thabks for the responces. i am actually a bit perplexed... because my ICP test didnt come back bad. I knew about Mg and Ca...
