Okay, I own an apex. Just recently reinstalled windows, and can no longer get my phone to find my apex when I search. It has been SO rock solid and dependable for so long now I have forgot how to solve this issue...when I hit the search icon I get the following msg "this operation couldn't be completed. No such file or directory"

Can anyone help me get back online?

Thx

Assuming you have a 192.168.x.x internal addressing schema, if thats correct is the phone on the same internal network, also assuming this is an iPhone?

Things to check:

Check the RJ45 (network cable) and make sure it is seated all the way.
Check the link light on the APEX and make sure both are on (one should be blinking).
Check the link light on the router for the cable (RJ45) running from the apex is connected, again link light should be on(one should be blinking)....

Open and CMD prompt (DOS Window) and see if you can ping the IP address of the apex.
to find the IP: Apex Display: System – Net Setup – IP Address

Syntex for ping: C:\>ping 192.168.1.80

If you can find the address on the display off the APEX you can manually add the unit to the apex app.

Yes, iPhone. House network. Nothing changed or disconnected. Cables fine. No blinking lights. 192.168.1.102...??

No reason to be sorry....

No blink light on the APEX controller or on the router?

assuming the router also does your wifi or do you have a wifi node also?

If you have a combo router and wifi device, can you power cycle the unit?

You have two LED on almost all network port... one is a light to indicate link activity normally green... the other is link speed and is a bi-color LED, Green – link established at fastest speed... amber – link established at next fastest speed or slower speeds... and off – link at slowest speed, which is 10 Mbps

If you have no lights at all that port on the router might be bad, you can test that by moving the cable to another port.

Sorry, my controller is downstairs, my modem is upstairs. Connected by 100 foot ethernet cable. never looked at my modem. Away from the house now. Will check when I get back. Appreciate your help.

Not a problem keep us posted.

ok, took a look at apex...status light is solid green nothing blinking. on router I have ISP modem in port 1(blinkin), apex in P2(blinkin). Pinged and manually entered 192.168.1.102. Apex now appears on screen of app but light won't go green. just times out.

Can you web to the apex via chrome?

If so I recommend you restart the apex.

Open a webpage via google chrome, type in the IP address of the apex and logon with the user name and password you set, should be the same one as the one you have to enter on the phone...

go to Configuration>Network Setup> check off "Reboot system after update>Update Network Settings

give the unit time to reboot.

again, embarassed at this but been so reliable I havent even needed to log in for some time...where can I recover this login info? It does not seem to be in my "Can' Remember crap" list...:(

Thx.

Did you change it or leave it at the default?
