Well, I think I've finally gotten bored of my standard routines...browsing the less educational forums/posts such as: "Please ID this Paly," "Look at this Crazy Chalice," "FS threads," etc...
I think all of us are guilty to some degree :)

I think it's about time that I start spending more time browsing much more educational and intellectual threads. Perhaps threads/post that actually explain whats happening scientifically behind these beautiful colored corals. Please help me find threads that discuss more scientific meaningful topics, but at the same time written in words that I can actually pronounce and that don't have 5 vowels back to back :)

Perhaps reccommend a good book that goes beyond the basics but yet not to scientific that I quickly lose interest. Somewhere in the happy middle.

I'm all ears...

I am not sure if posting this is allowed but if not mode please remove link.

I have read a ton from this site and I love it. The chemistry section especially is very in depth.

Just remeber that if you want to learn the "science" behind most any part of this hobby you will run in to unfamiliar words. Reread and research what part you miss and you can and will learn alot.

Reefkeeping Online Magazine - Articles by Subject

Wow, that's great! I too have read plenty of articles from Reefkeeping Magazine, but I never knew about the Articles by Subject link. Thanks!

Still looking for a good book recommendation.....

Other than the obvious, Delbeek and Sprung's "The Reef Aquarium vol. 1,2,3"(for me especially vol.3: Science and Art, Technology)...I would say check out "Ultimate Marine Aquariums" by Paletta. Very Good stuff no matter what chapter you're reading. Also check out wetwebmedia.com. Anything you can come up with has most likely been adressed somewhere on that site.
The beauty of this hobby/science is that there is, or at least should be, a diverse community of timeless knowledge...In other words, look at and learn from what people have already done. I've been reading about this stuff for about ten years now and i still learn something everyday. Its changing and advancing with the technology and times that's the hard part. Good luck in your search for knowledge.

I'm with you. I left other forums because they were so basic. So I moved here because most here are far more experienced and are buying harder to grow coral. Seems like we could cure some disease or something with all our combined knowledge. Idk.
