IO reef crystals, I guess since they came out with that version. SPS dominated. Can't go wrong!
A lot of people are saying to go with regular IO and not the reef crystals. It will be a while before I actually have any SPS. Would it still be better to go with the reef crystals for LPS or possibly even coraline algae growth in your opinion?

On a whim I switched to Fritz Pro salt after using IO (purple) for years. With Fritz I noticed my corals slowing down in growth BIG TIME. I then switched back last month to IO again and chalices are taking off once again. It could have been my system was just used to IO and it’s trace element levels and didn’t care for the change...

I personally highly doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between two aquaria, where alk, calcium, and magnesium are controlled to be the same, and the only difference was using normal IO or IO RC, regardless of what type of organisms you were keeping. :)

I always used Reef Crystals because it has more Cal, Mag and other elements.
Instant Ocean recommended for fish only tanks. But you will be fine using Instant Ocean if you dose.
I rely mostly on my Reef Crystals to help replenish trace elements and cal, mag but that only because i have a small system right now and i 50% water change is easiest then dosing ans testing weekly.
I don't even use test kits anymore I've watch my corals so much over the years i know what wrong the minute i notice it.

Pretty much all salt brands are good it just all preference tbh and how you plan on using them.
You want the best scientists use that Hamilton stuff but i honestly don't think it makes much difference.

I also use it it’s great for tanks that drains a lot o calcium and magnesium these were in my phone from a month ago

I don’t understand how people keep NSW levels with IO.

If I used IO for my water changes (20% weekly) my alk would jump from 7.5 to 8.2 dKh. This is not acceptable to me.

I even adjust my aquavitro salinity from 9.5 down to 7.5 dKh with hydrochloride acid and aeration for a day....

I've been using IO for the past year - got a great deal on Amazon. My tank's been doing great on it. My only challenge is getting the salt mixed to the right levels each time. No clear weights for mixing x gallons of salt water. Quick shots with my iPhone.
