I just got a batch of cleaner shrimp. Some of them I intend for my new 112 build, which has nothing in it. Every last thing will be quarantined. Every coral, invert and fish. I understand that I can add shrimp to the display as soon as they molt. The issue is, of course, if you are QTing several shrimp knowing which one has molted.

I got blessed with a couple molting in the bags while being shipped.

Could I safely add those as the first members of my new cleanup crew to my 112 build? I suppose I would do a drip acclimate and then a sudo TTM to make sure any of their bag water did not transfer.

They are currently floating in their QT tank, so time is of the essence on the thoughts to this post.

Congrats on new 112 build. IMO would not start with inverts in new tank. Start with moving fish over, then once fish in for several weeks and tank still stable following cycle, then add shrimp. With a new tank, there isn't yet any 'cleanup' for 'cleanup crew' so be sure you account for their nutrition needs when feeding your tank(s). I'd leave shrimp in QT until ready in a month or so.

If they go in the QT with the other shrimp they will have to stay there until all of them come out in 76 days, as I will not be able to tell them apart from the ones that have not molted yet.

The first fish will not be ready for another 45 days, though i may wait even longer to introduce all the tangs at the same time.

I have Lyretail Anthias going in in 30 days.

Is that a problem to wait 76 days? Personally I try to go slow, but patience is a virtue. Personally I still have to take a deep breath and remind myself go slow.

Nope. I have no issues with the 76 days. I have pleanty to keep me occupied. This is more of a curiosity question to learn more about QT. The more I know the more I can solve long term is I have issues.
