Hello - this morning i found my Duncan with all heads closed and looking like this. I've seen other corals do something similar, but not nearly as much. It is moving with the flow and looks like it will detach.

Thanks

Need white light to really see as pic is very blue

That duncan looks like it's melting. That brown stuff is the coral dying. Your only chance to save it will probably be to cut off the dead tissue from the unaffected heads before it spreads.

Its expelling its internal guts. Pretty much like heavy puking when you are sick

It either consumed smthg that doesn't agree with it ... or.... on rare occasions doing a big POOP.

the external tissue looks fine. Best to leave it alone. There's really nothing you can do if its in its final 2 days b4 melting away.

Messing with it moving it around will just irritate it more and bring on death quicker leave it be, ride it out

Yeah, it could just be a big poop. Everybody poops, even corals (although they're unfortunately forced to do it through the same opening they use to eat), and LPS corals have the biggest poops of all.

I'd leave it alone and watch for tissue damage before doing any cutting. The tissue looks OK to me.

I pulled the frag and did a peroxide dip once 2 heads were affected. The 2 heads are bare skeletons, but the rest seem to be recovering

So I only lost 2 heads in the end. The peroxide dip saved it I believe.

That’s a relief. I had my torch do this and thankfully it was just a poop, so I would’ve pinned yours to be pooping to. Surprised it wasn’t. Glad you saved it, though!
