The bulbs I chose was the UVI Super actinic R.......I like the old VHO actinic so we shall see what these will do......Thanks for the link John, never would have thought to go there.....

UVI Super actinic R is an awsome bulb , i mixed one 420 and the 460 or reef blue and super actinic. i so far enjoy the viewing a lot more now. kind of have on my mind or i was woundering over all which bulb was making them pop in color more. i cant turn one off to find out. i may pick a couple extra t5 bulbs down the road and figure out which one i like more or if the mix was the way to go. thats just me, i know not everyone will like the some look or color spectrum but over all having a couple different bulbs can help you try different looks.

Yea I can geisma(sp?) at around cost from a local LFS I deal with, I might in the end get a 12k to add instead of both actinics.....I really just use them for dawn/dusk and for color as I'm sure you are aware. I definitely see a difference with out the actinic on the tank. Some of the colors are nice but don't pop like I am used to seeing them, they don't seem to like the halides coming on and blasting them out of the darkness......Another reason I use actinic supplementation......I have found that corals health over all is better when using a dawn/dusk lighting scheme as well....

The best part is they have already shipped....:)

yeah, i think i may pull the trigger on this set up....and just pick up some geisman bulbs local

i'm curious as to what kind of ballast these contain though......never heard of an "advance" ballast.....

Advance it one of the biggest industrial ballast makers.....They have a good name behind them....They are not typical for the Aquarium trade but most fluorescent ballast in shopping centers and stuff like that are Advance......You can get them from electrical warehouses that electrical contractors go to.......I had a ballast like these about 15 years ago but there were no T-5 bulbs to run and HO wasn't nothing in the hobby.....
