Is this ich?

Why are you even talking about Prazi? That is for flukes, not ich. You've got ich. I disagree with everyone who says to let them be because the stress will lower their immunity further and they will die. I'm my 15 years of keeping fish, I've only been successfully by treating with copper in qt and letting the DT go fallow. Also, you need to act quickly because as the fish relax in their stress free ich infested house, they will be getting sicker and sicker and copper is less likely to work when you eventually try that remedy. Good luck, ich is terrible.

I ordered a fish trap yesterday should be here in a day or so. He's to big for the DIY one. I do plan on getting everyone out and in a qt ASAP. I have to go pickup a few tanks and start setting them up. I tried getting him out yesterday but no luck he was just getting more stressed and turning darker. I'm trying to find out what to do in the mean time wile I waite for the trap? And ya the prazipro is for the flukes I messed up once againg trying to fix this mess I started I'm just stressing out my boys are worried my wife is like I told you so my fish are stressed I'm stressed smh. But thanks for the advice. What copper product works the best? I have to order don't know if the wife will go out to buy. I work late hours and get home when most stores are closed. Thanks again

Cupramine, and you MUST get a copper test. Too weak and it's ineffective. Too strong and it's deadly. Just read up before starting. I feel your pain. I lost fish I had for many years to ich. Wiped the whole tank out. Now I qt religiously with coper and prazi. Good luck and start reading.

Thank you so much. I just got home from work an hour ago and stopped to get a tank and some bigger nets. I was able to get the sailfin and yellow tang out. I'll order the stuff tomorrow and have my wife go to marine depot tomorrow to pick up. I have an air stone in the qt right now will pick up a little power head tomorrow. Should I use a hob filter empty just to stir up the water in te meantime?

Yeah. Should be fine. Your job should be ok, but you may have to do a few water changes to keep ammonia down. You'll need to adjust the copper accordingly.

Pop some rubble in the hob and floss filter (floss is easy to clean), rubble will serve as a mechanical filter, so don't clean that

I have some bio ball things that came with the aquarium I through them in sump last night I'll use those and when you say rubble do you mean rock rubble?

Looks like ich. Keep you fish fed well, water quality good and figure out what caused the stress in the first place. The ich won't kill the fish it's the stressed that caused the ich that will end up killing the fish.

Well I came home to find 1 anthius gone and my blond naso is on her last leg. I have them in a hospital tank with cupramine in it. I have 2 hospital thanks up probably gonna get a third. I just need to get one more anthius Clark and Mel out (clarki and melaneras) if I spelt that right. The trap should be here tomorrow to get Mel out. :-(

My hippo never showed signs of ich in the 75. I move him to the 125, and he broke out. I tried to let him beat it, and kept him fed. Unfortunately, it spread to others, and I lost some. The hippo was so bad, I was able to reach in with my hand and pick him out. I was pretty certain he would not make it. I put him back in the 75, and treated with coppersafe...After 5 days he was out more and more...Then no more signs of ich and back to normal. I let the DT go fallow for 95 days, and made the transfew again...Same thing happened, but this time I kept him in the DT and added coppersafe. Took care of the ich. I am not saying use the coppersafe in the DT, but it worked for me and I had no interest in keeping corals and did not want to lose the fish. I don't think I would let it "run its course" though. Just my .02. Good luck.

Fish are all doing great now btw.

Sorry to hear this. Why are you getting multiple qt tanks?
Cause the size of the fish. Don't want to put to many in one tank to stress them any more then they are the sailfin is about 5" and Mel is just as long. I'm only have 10gal tanks they are cheep and my 20gal is still a sump on the othe tank. And with my work I only have time to make 20gal of salt a day. Plus I'm the only one here that can do all the lifting the wife just had surgery and my boys are to young lol. Blindly is still kicking but probably won't make it through the night. And the last anthius has ich bad Clark I don't see any spots same with me last time I saw him.

Well lost my naso and last anthius this morning. Both clowns show no signs of ich and neither does Mel. My sailfin is pretty bad the yellow tang is bad. I have 3 in qt with copper. I have to trap the last 2. And whoever makes it will be in qt for 3 months just to be on the safe side. So on the bottle of the copper it says to treat for 14 days do I do it for that long or longer? And when does it show signs of it working? Should I be replacing bio balls daily? I'm going to get some filter floss this weekend and use that instead.

The bio-balls will not have established enough bacteria overnight to be sufficient for your QT. Many people keep sponges in their sumps for a couple weeks or longer to use in a Qt. I believe the copper wipes out the bacteria anyways. Need to do frequent water changes and use something to neutralize ammonia. They make ammonia badges to place in your tanks to alert you of a spike they are cheap. Also run carbon at the end of your copper treatment to remove it from the system. Do not place anything that was used with the copper meds in your DT, it will leach and kill inverts, and corals. Live rock also absorb the copper to. Good luck

So a bactirea supplement should be used then right? I change have the badges comming in Friday but in till then I do water change every night after I test amonia.

you can just mince some garlic and soak the food in it.....just to add - the garlic will serve as a food enhancer to encourage the fish to eat. Garlic does not serve as a cure for ich.
