Jebao wave makers

I have a nuvo 20 with a RW-4. I have it on wave mode on the second lowest setting. More then enough power. I may add another on the other side though to get more coverage.

I suggest you getting an rw4 because they are cheap and they work pretty good. You need to clean them often unlike the tunze however. These RW pumps lose power if not cleaned often like every 3-6 months

I have a Nuvo 16 and two Koralia nano' is more than enough You will have a sand storm with more powerful flow

I have a koralia 2 but I hate the constant flow. Coral just arent as happy with it. I run a bare bottom so Im not worried about sand but I do have lots of softies that dont prefer high flow.

FWIW, I have mostly softies and some LPS in my 6ft 150G and I run 2 RW-8's (one on each end) and they're dialed back quite a bit.

IMO the tittle is a bit off on the discussion in this thread.
Jeabo will scare off some experience hobbyist, again I said "some".
In general what pump can do the job if any pump can do the job?
Why not a MP10 QD or a used MP10 that you can find sometimes on here for $100 or less.
That said why not going even cheaper...............
I had very good results in anything under 20G Nano with a rotating nozzle on the return pump, as long you don't have a constant flow in one direction any coral will do good.

For less than $25 on a advanced or less than $10 for a simple piece you can't break the bank and if you let it sink in for a while it will make sense.
He said she said........... it's your Nano reef, make a good decision here.

Thanks, I should have mentioned that the MP10 would have been my number one but my tank is in the corner with no room behind the glass for the dry side and I dont want it on the visual sides. I looked at the spin streams also and saw mixed reviews with frequent jamming, noise, and they are quite bulky I believe in the 16 nuvo since they sit right in the middle of the tank.

The two links Diesel posted look nice!

I run a rw-4 in my 20 long coral QT tank. At first it moved water way to much at about any setting. After adding more rock it seems to be much better at dispersing flow. That said, remember flow around your rock work. If you have a couple taller structures it will displace the flow.

Seems the consensus is that the RW4 is too powerful for the NUVO. So that leaves the tunze 6040 not many seem to have experience with this pump.

I have used a couple of tunze 6040's since they came out on one of my tanks. They are now on my SPS QT bin tank. small and very adjustable pump. They come with a controller to adjust the pump no need to buy anything. I always like to pumps on my tanks as I like to get flow from a couple directions and not just one.
You can also add a spin stream nozzle on your Novo 16 return line to give varying flow to your tank. I have two of them on My IM Fusion 40 plus two MP10qw pumps.

The RW range is good and packs some real power, the 4 would be better in your case as you can adjust flow - whereas 8 would be like a washing machine even on lowest setting...

Use the IM in streams. They are very low profile and disappear against the black bulkhead. I had mine running over two years in a Nuvo 16 and occasional vinegar soak cleans them well. IM also has a very humerous YouTube serious about maintenance. The difference between IM and others like Hydor is that they are flat.i also have them in my IM 30 l which counter act the Gyre

I have question regarding Jebao. Are they CLA certified for my Canadian reefers?

I can blow sand around on a 90 with two rw8's and can slosh water out if I'm not careful

One rw4 would be plenty for that tank, I have two rw8's on a 80 gallon and can splash water out also. Jeabos are nice pumps, defintaly for the price.

Tried it today the Rw4 was WAY too powerful on the nuvo 16 unless I was going all SPS super high flow. But my tank is mix softies and SPS.

Try W1 mode with speed set all the way down, use the green button until only one LED is illuminated then rotate the speed dial all the way counter clockwise to start with then rotate until you get the desired wave.. You will have to experiment with different angles on the powerhead until you get the desired effect, mines in a Biocube 14 with 11 gallons of water and I have some flexibility with it running it up to 3 lit LED's just need to find the sweet spot to keep the wave out of the trough at which point you will get water slopping over the sides at the higher speeds.. Only had mine a week and I love it!! still need to play with the other settings I do use the "feed" mode every day and it's great

The lowest setting moves around 130gph. If anything, that is somewhat tame for even a softie tank in a nuvo 16
