actually I was thinking of first putting RODI in the tank and mixing the salt in the tank due to the fact I don't want to buy and drive around 250 gallons of salt water and don't want to have the containers laying around the house mixing for 24 hours. But after I make the salt water I will remove water as I add sand and rocks and of course there will be nothing in the tank during the mixing

I hail from Phoenix, and I had a 60 gallon reef tank about 8 years ago and took it down due to new flooring being put in the house, with a promise from the wife of an immediate upgrade. I just recently got the itch and ok from the wife, and with the help of my daughter's interest and coming across a sweet deal of a 200g with custom stand and sump set up. My only worry the fish store I used to go is no longer around anyone from Phoenix have any suggestions of a good store I can get live rock and livestock at? Also I just found this site and I'm sure its in here but I would like to get pointed in the right direction for plumbing the sump, and sump set up. This part is new to me and with the basic understanding of what a sump does and water drains down and gets shot back up, my bewilderment is the fact the over flow has 4 pre-drilled holes (2-2in 2-1in) and the sump has three compartments and I want to have a refugium in the sump.

Do a search on youtube for
52 Weeks of Reefing #BRS160
(BRS is oft recommended by R2R for everything reef tank.)

Welcome to R2R @jrlg and welcome back to the hobby.
There are a ton of great shops here in the Metro Phoenix Area - you can find most (if not all) of them here: http://azfishstores.com/

Jumping back in with a 200 gallon? that's the way to do it :-)

Welcome and. Many wishes for success

here's a update I moved back wards, had a few friends come over and we moved the tank off the stand so I could get to the sump, poor planning on my part but I did need it out of the way when I brought it home. Now time to do some things to the stand to make it more to my liking and redo the sump to incorporate a refugium.
