Thanks for the article Skinz. So i knew about these potential toxins but didn't realize that they are found in certain Z's & P's. I thought they all had it and it was an allergic reaction kind of thing. So how can we identify which are which then?

You don't, just assume that they all have it and be safe with their handling.

I know it's probably true...but I don't take any precautions. I'm the type that does the stupid thing until I pay for it one time, then convert. Learning from others experience has always been my weak link...

Captain Americas made me sick one time after i squirted myself in the eye. I've never had a problem with other zoas/palys but I have been much more careful since then

Does anybody remember the thread that went around on RC about somebodys dog who stuck his nose in a bucket while he was acclimating zoas, and the dog died? Did that ever get confirmed?

In my personal experience, I've had AOGs squirt me in the eye while fragging, and my eye turned red for a week on the side, and then it went away. No burning or blurriness or anything like that.

Agreed, when I frag zoas now...haven't done it in a month or so, I wear latex gloves and safety glasses. In my line of business (IT), I've quickly learned that its better to be safe than sorry.

I can say the big copper palys are among the more common Palytoxin rich varieties. I have a bunch of those that I'm going to be torching soon....serious overgrowth problem.....and ugly too....
